Tularosa Mountains

The Tularosa Mountains are a small mountain range located in south-central New Mexico. This rugged range rises abruptly from the surrounding Chihuahuan Desert, with steep, rocky terrain and numerous peaks over 8,000 feet in elevation. The mountains are characterized by diverse plant and animal life, including juniper-pinyon woodlands, ponderosa pine forests, and wildlife such as mule deer, black bears, and golden eagles. The range is part of the Lincoln National Forest, providing ample opportunities for hiking, backpacking, and camping amidst the dramatic desert scenery.
