Tehachapi Mountains

The Tehachapi Mountains are a small mountain range located in Kern County, California, along the border between the Mojave Desert and the San Joaquin Valley. This range acts as a transition zone between the rugged Sierras to the north and the lower desert landscapes to the south. The terrain is characterized by steep, rocky slopes, canyons, and rolling hills, with elevations ranging from around 3,000 to 7,500 feet. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters.
