South Hills

The South Hills are a compact mountain range located in central California, known for their rugged granite peaks and alpine lakes. The range spans an area of approximately 100 square miles, with the highest point reaching over 12,000 feet in elevation. The terrain is characterized by steep, rocky slopes, deep canyons, and numerous glacial cirques and tarns. The South Hills are part of the larger Sierra Nevada mountain system, but their remote and less-traversed nature sets them apart as a unique outdoor destination.
