Sonoma Mountains

The Sonoma Mountains are a small, coastal mountain range located in Sonoma County, California. Spanning just 20 miles long, the range rises from the Pacific Ocean and features a mix of rolling hills, oak-studded canyons, and rugged, chaparral-covered peaks. Elevations range from around 500 feet near the coast to just over 2,700 feet at the highest point. The mountains were formed by ancient volcanic and sedimentary rock, creating a diverse landscape of grasslands, oak woodlands, and mixed coniferous forests. Wildlife in the range includes deer, coyotes, bobcats, and a variety of bird species.
