Slate Range

The Slate Range is a rugged mountain range located in eastern California, near the border with Nevada. Characterized by steep, rocky slopes and deep canyons, the range features a high-desert landscape with sparse vegetation and dramatic geological formations. The terrain is primarily composed of slate, metamorphic rock, and volcanic intrusions, which give the mountains their distinctive gray and slate-like appearance. Elevations in the range vary significantly, with the highest peaks reaching over 7,000 feet above sea level.
