Sierra Madre

The Sierra Madre mountain range in western Wyoming is a rugged, remote, and relatively undeveloped expanse of alpine terrain. Spanning over 100 miles north to south, the range features high peaks, deep glacial valleys, and dense subalpine forests. The geology is dominated by granite, quartzite, and sedimentary rock formations, with many exposed rocky cliffs and ridges. Elevations range from around 7,000 feet in the valleys to over 13,000 feet at the highest summits. The climate is alpine, with short, cool summers and long, snowy winters.
