Shelton Buttes

The Shelton Buttes are a small mountain range located in the southern Sierra Nevada of California. Formed by volcanic activity, the range features rounded, gently sloping summits rather than jagged, technical peaks. The terrain is predominately forested, with open meadows and exposed rock outcroppings interspersed throughout. Elevations range from around 6,000 to 8,000 feet, offering moderate yet varied hiking challenges.
