Shadow Mountains

The Shadow Mountains are a small, rugged mountain range located in eastern California, near the Nevada border. Characterized by steep, rocky terrain and dramatic canyons, the range offers a challenging yet rewarding outdoor recreation experience. The terrain is predominantly composed of metamorphic and igneous rock, with sharp ridgelines and steep, exposed slopes. Elevations range from around 4,000 feet in the valleys to over 8,000 feet at the highest peaks, creating a diverse array of ecosystems and microclimates.
