Sawtooth Range

The Sawtooth Range is a rugged mountain range located in the Sierra Nevada of central California. Known for its dramatic granite peaks and deep glacial valleys, the range offers a diverse alpine landscape. Steep, jagged ridges and high-altitude lakes characterize the Sawtooth's terrain, which is shaped by millions of years of glacial activity. The range's high elevation, ranging from around 7,000 to over 12,000 feet, creates a cool, alpine climate and supports subalpine and alpine ecosystems.
