Sand Hills

The Sand Hills is a small mountain range located in northeastern California, near the border with Nevada. This range is characterized by its unique, rugged terrain consisting of rolling hills and ridges composed primarily of sand and sandstone. The Sand Hills are part of the Basin and Range province, a geologically active region marked by fault-block mountains and wide, arid valleys. The area features a high-desert climate with hot, dry summers and cooler winters. Vegetation is sparse, dominated by drought-tolerant shrubs and grasses adapted to the harsh environment.
