About San Andres Mountains
The San Andres Mountains are a rugged mountain range located in south-central New Mexico. Formed by uplifting of the Earth's crust, the range features steep, rocky slopes and deep canyons carved by intermittent streams. Elevations range from around 4,500 feet in the valleys to over 9,000 feet at the highest peaks. The landscape is dominated by pinyon-juniper woodlands, with ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, and aspen at higher elevations.
