Salado Mountains

The Salado Mountains are a small mountain range located in central New Mexico, near the city of Socorro. The range is part of the Basin and Range province, characterized by rugged, fault-block mountains with steep, rocky slopes and narrow canyons. The terrain is primarily composed of igneous and metamorphic rock, with some sedimentary formations present as well. The mountains rise abruptly from the surrounding high desert landscape, providing a scenic backdrop to the region.
