Sacramento Mountains

The Sacramento Mountains are a small, isolated mountain range located in southern New Mexico. The range rises abruptly from the surrounding desert, with steep, rugged slopes and deep canyons. The geology is dominated by ancient volcanic and sedimentary rocks, creating a diverse landscape of rocky outcrops, forested slopes, and alpine meadows. Elevations range from around 6,000 feet in the foothills to over 11,500 feet at the highest peaks. The climate is generally mild, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters.
