Rawson Mountains

The Rawson Mountains are a remote and rugged mountain range located in the eastern Sierra Nevada of central California. Characterized by steep, granite-dominated peaks and deep glacial valleys, the range offers a challenging and pristine outdoor environment. The terrain is predominantly alpine, with expansive meadows, crystal-clear lakes, and numerous cascading streams. Numerous glaciers and snowfields persist year-round, even at lower elevations. Wildlife in the range includes iconic Sierra Nevada species like the bighorn sheep, mule deer, and the endangered Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog.
