Pinyon Mountains

The Pinyon Mountains are a small, rugged mountain range located in southeastern California, near the border with Nevada. Spanning an area of approximately 200 square miles, the range is characterized by steep, rocky slopes, narrow canyons, and scattered piñon pine and juniper trees. The terrain is generally arid and desert-like, with limited surface water sources. Despite their modest size, the Pinyon Mountains offer a diverse array of geological features, including granite outcroppings, volcanic rock formations, and dry washes carved by intermittent streams.
