Palen Mountains

The Palen Mountains are a small mountain range located in eastern Riverside County, California. The range is situated within the Chuckwalla Mountains, a larger mountain system in the Mojave Desert region. The Palen Mountains feature rugged, rocky terrain with steep slopes and elevations reaching over 3,000 feet. The landscape is characterized by granite outcroppings, canyons, and sparse desert vegetation including creosote bush, ocotillo, and Joshua trees.
