Ord Mountains

The Ord Mountains are a small, rugged mountain range located in southeastern California, near the Nevada border. Characterized by steep, rocky terrain, the range is part of the Mojave Desert region and features a harsh, arid climate. Elevations range from around 3,000 feet in the valleys to over 6,000 feet atop the highest peaks. The landscape is dominated by sparse vegetation adapted to the dry conditions, including creosote bush, Joshua trees, and other desert scrub. Wildlife in the Ord Mountains includes bighorn sheep, coyotes, and a variety of birds and reptiles.
