Newberry Mountains

The Newberry Mountains are a small but rugged mountain range located in the Mojave Desert region of eastern California. Spanning an area of around 150 square miles, the range is characterized by steep, rocky slopes and craggy peaks. The terrain is generally arid and sparsely vegetated, with scattered pinyon pine and juniper trees providing some cover. Numerous canyons, dry washes, and alluvial fans are carved into the mountain flanks, creating a stark, dramatic landscape. The Newberry Mountains represent an isolated island of high ground in an otherwise flat, desert environment, offering a unique outdoor recreation experience.
