Mutton Mountains

The Mutton Mountains are a relatively small but rugged mountain range located in eastern Oregon, near the borders of Idaho and Nevada. The range is characterized by steep, rocky slopes, deep canyons, and a semi-arid climate. Elevations range from around 4,500 feet in the valleys to over 8,000 feet at the highest peaks. The terrain is primarily composed of volcanic rock, with areas of exposed basalt and rhyolite formations. The mountains are home to a variety of wildlife, including mule deer, bighorn sheep, and a range of smaller mammals and birds.
