Visit Nitinaht Lake

Nitinaht Lake, operated by the Ditidaht First Nation on Vancouver Island's west coast, offers camping at the Caycuse Recreation Site (open April 27–October 4). The campground serves as the mid-entry point and gateway to the West Coast Trail, with Parks Canada's third official entrance located here. Basic campsites cost $35 plus fees, accommodating up to 7 people depending on age composition. The site welcomes West Coast Trail hikers with tents without reservation. Day use is available for $20 per vehicle. The Ditidaht people have stewarded this territory for over 5,000 years and operate the Windsurf Park at the lake. Pets are welcome with restrictions, and the campground enforces pack-in, pack-out principles.
