Speywater Lodge operates guided steelhead fly-fishing trips on the Grande Ronde River near Troy, Oregon, led by renowned Spey instructor Scott O'Donnell and his crew of steelhead guides. The operation offers two trip styles: four-day float trips on the lower Grande Ronde in Washington that launch twice weekly in October, featuring six-person groups in deluxe mobile camps with stand-up tents, cots, and a camp manager and river chef; and lodge-based trips departing daily in October and November from the riverside lodge upstream of Troy, where anglers wade prime runs and fish deeper pools and pocket water. Both trips limit groups to six anglers and include guided fishing, flies, and leaders. The Grande Ronde, often compared to a miniature Deschutes, draws steelheaders and Spey casters to its canyon waters during fall months.
