Nor'Wester Lodge and Canoe Outfitters, family-owned since 1931, operates on the shores of Poplar Lake in the Superior National Forest near Grand Marais. The lodge offers lakeside cabins, townhouses, and campsites with direct access to fishing, canoeing, hiking, and swimming. Poplar Lake supports walleye, northern pike, bass, crappie, bluegill, and lake trout; guests fish from cabin docks, the main dock, or rented boats including a pontoon. Winter activities include ice fishing, snowmobiling on groomed trails, and cross-country skiing via the nearby Banadad trail system. The property sits 30 miles up the Gunflint Trail, 2.5 miles from the Canada border, with access to hundreds of miles of hiking trails and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
