About Fort Tuthill Luke AFB Recreation Area
Fort Tuthill Luke AFB Recreation Area operates Grand Canyon rafting trips through the Lower Granite Gorge between Diamond Creek (River Mile 225) and Pearce Ferry. Three-day trips feature rapids on day one, smooth floating on day two, and Lake Mead on the final day; four-day trips extend the scenic float through the western Grand Canyon section. All food and snacks are provided on overnight trips. The facility also rents canoes, single kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards for summer use. Participants must be at least 12 years old. A $500 deposit per person is required at registration, with a $75 cancellation fee; cancellations within 21 days incur full trip cost. DoD ID cardholders may sponsor up to four guests at their rate.
