Community Boating Center

Community Boating Center offers hourly rentals of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, rowboats, dinghy sailboats, and keelboats on Bellingham Bay. Single sit-on-top kayaks and stand-up paddleboards rent for $20/hour without skill testing required. Tandem sit-on-top kayaks and rowboats rent for $30/hour. Sit-inside sea kayaks in single or tandem configurations require a skill test and rent for $20–$30/hour. The Mega SUP, a giant stand-up paddleboard accommodating 4–10 people, rents for $50/hour. Dinghy sailboats and keelboats also available with crew requirements and skill tests. The center operates seasonally from mid-April through mid-October, with extended summer hours (10am–8pm weekends, 2pm–8pm weekdays mid-June to Labor Day). Season passes provide year-round access to rental equipment at three levels: Human Powered ($250), Dinghy Plus ($300), and Keelboat Plus ($600). Scholarships and 50% discounts on passes are available for families, students, active-duty military, veterans, and people with disabilities.
