Captain Zipline operates Colorado's first zipline, located seven miles outside Salida. The Lost Canyon Zipline Tour features six zip lines with significant height exposure across ancient canyons, with cables ranging from 300 to 700 feet and reaching heights over 250 feet. Participants complete ground school and training, then hike between lines while learning about regional ecology, natural history, and geology. The Sunset Zipline Tour follows the same six-line course as the sun sets behind the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and moon rises over the canyon.
Beyond ziplining, Captain Zipline operates the Canyon Challenge Course, an aerial park built into the canyon with seven challenge courses and over 120 elements ranging from trapezes to tight rope walks and hanging bridges. The company also offers Via Ferrata tours on limestone cliffs with four routes featuring heights up to 150 feet, using fall protection lanyards and stainless steel rungs and bolts. Captain Zipline operates year-round and offers combo packages combining ziplining with rafting on the Arkansas River through Browns Canyon or downtown Salida.
