Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends Animal Society is a national nonprofit working since 1984 to end the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters. The organization operates the nation's largest no-kill animal sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, which provides care for up to 1,600 dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, horses, pigs, and rehabilitating wildlife. Best Friends partners with more than 5,500 shelters and rescue groups across the country and runs regional programs in Los Angeles, New York City, Salt Lake City, Houston, and Northwest Arkansas. Services include adoption facilitation, spay/neuter clinics, emergency response, fostering programs, and community advocacy. In fiscal year 2024, 87% of the organization's spending went directly to programs and services.
