Alex Gonsiewski is a fly fishing guide and photographer operating on Oregon's Deschutes and John Day rivers. From May through November, he guides trips targeting trout and summer steelhead on both rivers, holding his own permits on each. Each January through April, he relocates to Tillamook on the Oregon coast to guide winter steelhead on coastal rivers from his base camp called The Shack. Gonsiewski began guiding professionally in 2009 and spent a decade with Deschutes Angler before launching his independent operation in 2022. He combines guiding with photography, documenting fishing pursuits and landscapes throughout his work.
