About Riverton
Riverton is a ghost town in Oregon County, Missouri, sitting along U.S. Route 160 at the western edge of the Eleven Point River crossing. Once recognized as a populated place, the community has since faded into an extinct settlement with little remaining of its former presence.
Visitors today will find the riverside location itself the main draw — the crossing over the Eleven Point River gives the site its geographic identity. As with many such remnant communities, there is no developed attraction here, and expectations should be set accordingly.
