About Hart
Hart is a ghost town in Russell Township, Macon County, Missouri, that once served as a stop along the Santa Fe Railroad. The site also went by the name Evelyn, which was the name of its local post office — an operation that ran from 1888 until it closed in 1916. A railroad depot accompanied the post office as the community's other notable institution.
Today Hart is an extinct village with little to greet visitors beyond the landscape itself. Those drawn to vanished Missouri communities will find this a quiet, unassuming spot where a small railroad town once stood and then faded away.
