About Dooley
Dooley is a ghost town in northeastern Sheridan County, Montana, with roots in the early days of the Soo Line Railroad. It came into existence as a station stop and was one of the first four depot locations established along the railroad's branch line running to Whitehall.
Today Dooley is a quiet remnant of that rail era. Visitors should expect little in the way of developed facilities or formal access — this is a remote northeastern Montana location best suited to those interested in railroad history and the atmosphere of a faded prairie settlement.
