About Corinth
Corinth is a vanished community in Montague County, Texas, located about 12.4 miles east-northeast of Nocona. Its history was modest from the start — the settlement never grew beyond a single church building that doubled as a schoolhouse and gathering place for farming families scattered across the north central part of the county.
By 1982, the old church had fallen in on itself after years of sitting empty, and today nothing remains of the community at all. Visitors should know this going in: there is no structure, no marker, and no preserved remnant to explore. The site is of interest only to those drawn to the quiet of a place where a small rural community once tried to take root.
