About Bridgeport

Bridgeport is a ghost town in the far eastern corner of Daggett County, Utah, close to the Colorado border. In its day it served as a small ranching community, anchored by a store, a saloon, and a post office situated on the north bank of the Green River near the mouth of Jesse Ewing Canyon, at the western edge of Browns Park.

Very little infrastructure survives today, and visitors come mainly for the remote river setting and the sense of a place that once functioned as a modest hub for ranchers in this isolated stretch of Utah. Access to the area is rugged, and the site rewards those interested in history, photography, and the wide-open scenery along the Green River corridor.
