About Anthony

Anthony is a ghost town in Bexar County, Texas, with roots in the early twentieth century. It came into existence as a company town built to support the Alamo Portland Cement Company, and it sat along the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad. At its working peak the community included a shrine, a church, and a school — the kind of infrastructure that marks a place where families settled, not just workers camped. By the close of the twentieth century it had been abandoned entirely.

Visitors today will find little more than the remnants of a once-functional industrial settlement. The site holds historical curiosity for those interested in Texas company towns and early cement manufacturing, but expectations should be kept modest — this is a place defined more by absence than by standing structures.
