About Alpha

Alpha is a ghost town in Eureka County, Nevada, that briefly flourished in 1874 and 1875. During those peak years it supported a hotel and multiple saloons, and it was connected to the wider region by the Eureka and Palisade Railroad, a narrow gauge line that has since ceased operation. When the railroad was extended onward to Eureka, the town's reason for existing effectively vanished, and residents moved on shortly afterward.

Very little survives above ground today. Visitors will find rubble and the outlines of old cellars, along with a ranch that remains visible at the site. There are no preserved structures or interpretive markers based on what is known about the location.
