About Thunder Loop Trailhead

The trail system is located about 4 miles south of Norwood, Colorado via paved and dirt roads. Passenger cars can access any of the trails under most road conditions. Enjoy riding 19 total miles of single track in the Thunder Trails system. Four trail loops (Thunder, Portis, Naturita, and Goshorn) offer a variety of challenging riding for all experience levels. All trails are open to motorcycle, mountain bike, horse, and foot travel. Camping is available in designated campsites along Thunder Road (Forest Road 609) at the north end of the trail system. There is a portable toilet at the main Thunder Trails trailhead from late May-early October.
