Hoffman Hills Recreation Area

Hoffman Hills Recreation Area is a 714-acre state park in western Wisconsin, about 4 miles from the town of Colfax. It is managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. Late summer into early fall tends to be the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Menomonie show September highs around 72°F with lows near 48°F. Winter is cold, with January highs in the mid-20s and several snowy days each month from December through February. Two ski touring routes sit about half a mile away: South Squirrel Tail and North Squirrel Tail. For mountain biking, Russian Slough Wildlife Preserve is roughly 3 miles off.
