GOOSEBERRY RESERVOIR CAMPGROUND
AI-suggested draft · review before you go
Gooseberry Reservoir Campground is located in a beautiful mountain valley in an open sagebrush meadow next to Gooseberry Reservoir at an elevation of 8,400 feet. The surrounding mountains are dotted with aspens, fir trees and sagebrush. The reservoir is visible from all sites and offers good cutthroat and rainbow trout fishing, as well as canoeing. No boat ramp is available, and reservoir is open to hand-powered watercraft only. This campground has vault toilets, but no potable water or garbage service. This is a " pack it in, pack it out" site. You must remove all trash upon departure. There are no trees and no shade. Parking spurs are quite long, accommodating large RVs. A well-maintained dirt road leads to the campground, providing good access for all vehicles. The Great Western Trail runs nearby, offering excellent opportunities for hiking, biking, and ATVs/OHVs. Mammoth Guard Station is located 1 mile south.
