Terrace Mountain
About
Terrace Mountain is a summit in Rothrock State Forest in central Pennsylvania, about 4.6 miles from the town of Marklesburg. It sits close to the Seven Points area of Raystown Lake, which makes it easy to pair with other outings nearby. Fall is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Raystown Lake show September highs around 76°F and October highs around 64°F. That station sits well below the summit, so temperatures up top run cooler. Several trails start close by. Horse Knob Fire Trail is under a mile away and Brook Trail is about 1.1 miles off. For a longer stay, Seven Points (PA) campground is roughly 2.2 miles away, and Raystown Lake, about 3.1 miles away, offers fishing.
