Tyler State Park
About
Tyler State Park is a state park in Pennsylvania, about 1.9 miles from the town of Newtown. It is managed by the state park agency, and a single trail runs within its boundaries. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Neshaminy Falls show a full four-season range. Spring warms quickly, with highs climbing from about 51°F in March to 72°F in May. Summer is the hottest stretch: July averages highs near 86°F and lows around 65°F, and August is only slightly cooler. September and October ease back to highs of 77°F and 66°F, with the fewest wet days of the year, so early fall is a comfortable time for a visit. Winter is cold. January highs average about 39°F, with lows near 22°F, and rain or snow typically falls on 10 or 11 days in each winter month. More options lie just outside the park. The Green Lane Trail for mountain biking is less than a mile away, and the Delaware Canal Paddle Route is about 4 miles off. Across the river in New Jersey, the Switchback Trail offers hiking about 7 miles away, and the Delaware River at the Lambertville access, about 9 miles away, is a spot for river fishing.
