BEACH 7 (WATER WORKS BEACH)
About
Beach 7, also called Water Works Beach, is a public lake beach in Pennsylvania, about 4 miles from Erie. Summer is the most comfortable time for a beach day. Typical July highs reach about 81°F with lows near 64°F, and August is nearly as warm at around 80°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Erie's airport. Those are also the months with the fewest wet days, about 10 to 11 a month. Presque Isle Bay is about a mile and a half away and offers lake fishing. Within about 7 miles, the Greenway Trail and the Wildflower Loop give mountain bikers somewhere to ride, and the Harborcreek Trail is a hiking option a little farther out.
