About Cow Creek Tour Route

Cow Creek Tour Route is a 44.5-mile scenic drive in Oregon on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It holds two designations: it is a BLM Back Country Byway and also an Oregon State Scenic Byway. The route links the communities of Glendale, Riddle and Tri-City, so any of the three works as a starting or ending point. Summer is the most comfortable time to make the drive. July and August typically see highs around 77°F and only about two wet days a month, based on typical averages from the Sexton Summit weather station about 10 miles away. Winter there brings highs in the low 40s and rain or snow on roughly half the days of the month. For a chance to get out of the car, the Hare Creek-Stag Trail Tie hike lies about 1.5 miles from the route.
