Pine Knoll Shores: Ocean Glen

North Carolina

About

Pine Knoll Shores: Ocean Glen is a public beach access point on the North Carolina coast, about 1.9 miles from the town of Indian Beach. It's a simple stop for reaching the sand: there's parking on site, and using the access costs nothing. For comfortable beach weather, late spring through early fall works well. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 78°F in May to about 87°F in July and August, when lows stay near 70°F. September keeps much of that warmth, with highs around 82°F. Two nature trails sit close by: the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Trail is about 2.1 miles away, and the Alice G. Hoffman Nature Trail is about 2.2 miles away. Farther out, the Patsy Pond Green Loop is roughly 5.9 miles off, and Oyster Point Camp offers camping about 7.6 miles away.
