Wycamp Lake Boat Launch
About
Wycamp Lake Boat Launch is a public boat launch on Wycamp Lake in northern Michigan's Emmet County, about 2.4 miles from the small community of Cross Village. Emmet County manages the site, which serves as a put-in for getting a boat onto the lake. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cross Village put July and August highs around 74°F with lows near 57°F. Late spring and early fall are cooler, with May highs around 62°F and September highs around 67°F. Winters here are cold and snowy, and January highs average just 27°F, so open-water boating is very much a warm-season activity. For time off the water, the Iron Belle Trail passes about 3.9 miles away and makes an easy addition to a day spent around Cross Village. Pairing a morning on the lake with an afternoon walk or ride on the trail is a simple way to round out a visit to this corner of Emmet County.
