Mears State Park
About
Mears State Park is a public lake beach in Michigan, about half a mile from the town of Pentwater. It's a state park beach rather than a trail, so there's no climb or route to plan around. The appeal is the beach itself and its closeness to town. Summer is the most comfortable time for a beach day. Typical July highs reach about 80°F with lows near 58°F, based on long-term averages from a nearby weather station in Hart. June and August run similarly warm, with highs in the upper 70s. For time on the water beyond the beach, the Pentwater River lies about 4 miles away and is used for canoeing. The North Branch Pentwater River, roughly 7 miles off, offers another paddling option.
