Alexander Henry Park

Alexander Henry Park is a public lake beach in Michigan, set about 0.2 miles from Mackinaw City. It is a simple shoreline stop, close enough to town to fit easily into a day spent in the area. Summer is the natural season for a beach visit here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at St. Ignace, about 4.4 miles away, show highs around 71°F in June and 75°F in both July and August, with lows near 52°F in June and 59°F through July and August. September stays mild, with highs near 69°F and lows around 53°F. Spring warms slowly: May highs average about 61°F, and April sits near 48°F. Winters are cold, with January and February highs in the upper 20s and lows around 14°F, so the shoreline is a very different place outside the warm months. The North Central State Trail starts about half a mile away for anyone wanting to stretch their legs after time on the sand. Within roughly 6 to 8 miles are the Little Bear Fitness Trail, the Gros Cap Bine (Grouse) Loop, and the East Zone for lake fishing.
