Sabattus Mountain

Maine

About

Sabattus Mountain is a summit in western Maine, about 10 miles from the town of Bridgton. The Mount Sabattus Trail starts less than half a mile away and is the obvious way to reach the top. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable seasons for a visit. At a weather station near Bethel, about 10 miles away, typical June highs average around 74°F and September highs around 71°F. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the mountain, so temperatures on the summit run a little cooler. Winters are cold, with typical January highs in the upper 20s. Other nearby options include the Heald Bradley Ponds Reserve Trails, about 3 miles away. The Family Wall climbing area is roughly 7 miles away. Cold River Campground, just across the line in New Hampshire, is about 10 miles from the summit.
