Durgin Mountain

Maine

About

Durgin Mountain is a summit of 2,408 feet in the Caribou-Speckled Mountain Wilderness, part of the Saco Ranger District of White Mountain National Forest in western Maine. The nearest town is Bethel, about 10 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Pinkham Notch weather station in New Hampshire show July highs around 75°F with lows near 53°F, and September highs around 68°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the summit, so temperatures on top run a little cooler. Several trails start close by. Great Brook Trail is under a mile away, and Red Rock and Blueberry Ridge Trail are each within about a mile and a half. For an overnight base, Hastings Campground is roughly 4.4 miles off.
