The 69 listed problems pull from at least three distinct areas: Bedrock, Rock Creek (Croy) Bouldering, and the Bert and Ernie area. The naming conventions alone tell you something about the vibe — you'll find problems called Bamm Bamm, Yabadabadoo!, and Flintstoned sitting alongside candy-themed lines like Gobstopper, Laffy Taffy, Fun Dip, and the Everlasting Gobstopper traverse. That mix of playful names doesn't mean the climbing is soft; the area covers a real range of styles, from slab work (Damn Slab) to chimney technique (Volcom chimney) to low traverses. Rock Creek (Croy) is the most frequently referenced cluster and gives you roadside access to a solid concentration of problems. Bedrock functions as a named area anchor with multiple problems grouped around it. If you're driving up from the Twin Falls corridor or coming off a ski trip at Sun Valley, Hailey's bouldering is a legitimate reason to add a day to your itinerary rather than an afterthought.
The listed problems span beginner-friendly lines like Rubber Duckie and Pebbles up through more technical problems and low traverses like the Everlasting Gobstopper traverse. Both areas appear to have enough variety that newer boulderers and experienced climbers can find something worthwhile on the same outing. That said, the area isn't a dedicated beginner gym — come with basic movement skills and a spotter.
Spring (April through early June) and fall (September through October) are the most reliable windows. Summer works at higher-elevation problems but midday heat in the valley can make low-elevation granite unpleasant. Winter access depends on snowpack — Rock Creek Road can be affected by snow, so check road conditions before making the drive in December through March.

For rentals, check with gear shops in Hailey or Ketchum before your trip, as inventory varies seasonally. If you're flying in, plan to rent or borrow locally rather than shipping a pad.
Rock Creek (Croy) Bouldering is described as roadside or near-roadside access, which makes it one of the more approachable areas in the region. Bedrock and the Bert and Ernie area may involve short walks from a pullout. None of the listed areas appear to require a long backcountry approach, but bring a printed or downloaded topo since cell service in the canyon can be unreliable.
Some bouldering areas in central Idaho have seasonal closures for raptor nesting, typically February through July on specific walls. Check with the Sawtooth National Forest or local climbing coalitions before visiting in late winter or spring. Leave No Trace practices matter here — pack out all trash, avoid brushing lichen aggressively, and stay on established paths between problems to protect the vegetation.
