Playalinda: Walkover
About
Playalinda: Walkover is a beach within Canaveral National Seashore in Florida, about 11 miles from the town of Mims. It is a simple walkover access point to the shore rather than a trail with a set route or distance. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from about November through April, when typical highs at a nearby weather station in Titusville range from the low 70s to around 80°F, with lows in the 50s and only six to seven wet days a month. Summer is hotter and wetter, with typical highs near 89°F and about 14 wet days a month in July and August. For a change from the sand, the Merritt Island Trail National Wildlife Refuge Trail lies about 8 miles away and makes an easy pairing with a beach stop.
