Playalinda: #8 is a beach within Canaveral National Seashore on Florida's east coast, about 12 miles from the town of Mims. It's a simple, no-questions-asked stop for a day on the sand at the seashore. The most comfortable stretch is spring, when typical averages from a nearby weather station in Titusville run from highs around 75°F in March to about 80°F in April, with only six or seven wet days a month. Summer brings highs near 89°F and rain on about 14 days a month from June through September. For time off the beach, the Merritt Island Trail National Wildlife Refuge Trail lies about 8 miles away and offers a nearby hike.
